At various points in Method of medicine and in a passage in the Commentary on the Hippocratic Epidemics Galen takes up the image of the tyrant doctor employed by Plato in the famous passage in the Laws in which, to illustrate the role of the proem to the law, he introduces the contrast between doctors of freemen and doctors of slaves (Leg. IV 719e 8-720e 5) : this is an unexplored chapter of Galen’s Platonism.

This paper proposes to emend pasin in pasai in a damaged passage of the De ordine librorum suorum ad Eugenianum about the De sanitate tuenda (II 13, p. 94,10-16 Boudon Millot), recently restored thanks to the discovery of the Vlatadon 14, a new manuscript of this Galen’s autobibliographical work.

Il volume, redatto in lingua tedesca, rappresenta la più recente edizione critica dello scritto ippocratico dal titolo De genitura/De natura pueri, e in quanto tale segue l’ultima edizione curata da R. Joly (Les Belles Lettres, Paris 1970). Il testo critico è stato costruito sulla base della tradizione manoscritta diretta ritenuta fondamentale, rappresentata da cinque manoscritti, che sono stati tutti visionati personalmente, descritti in maniera accurata, e studiati dal punto di vista critico-testuale, paleografico e codicologico: il Marciano greco 269, il Vaticano greco 276 (codici vetusti e testimoni indipendenti della tradizione manoscritta), il Parigino greco 2140, il Pariginio greco 2…
